Christmas in the Country

Wow, December 24th Christmas Eve. It is hard to believe the whole of 2008 has almost passed.
I'm ready for the Holiday and so I wanted to share another favorite book of mine that I loved as a child. I always wanted to go the That Grandma and Grandpas house for Christmas.

Anyone Remember Jim, Jock and Jumbo

Here are some cute graphics for another of my favorite childhood books. Jim, Jock and Jumbo published 1946 in New York and illustrated by Swedish artist Einar Norelius. My favorite is where the little blue elephant has the glove on this trunk.

New Blog Site

It's only 9 days until Christmas and since I am all caught up with my holiday stuff and since it is waaay cold in Missouri and here is snow out there I thought I'd work on my blog. Basically, I want to share my love of vintage childrens books with all of you that enjoy not only the stories but the great illustrations as well.
So over the next few days, I will attempt to put up pictures of some of my favorite kids books. Since I'm not home in Tucson, AZ and won't be for several weeks, my blog may be lacking as all my books are there. But I have some pics on my computer so I'll put them up.
This will be a work in progress so please be patient and check back often as I work on The Book Cottage.
